“The new 18V lithium ion drill/driver is great for all DIYers,” said Dean Peterson, product development and marketing director for SKIL Power Tools. “With 18 volts of 40% more power and 25% lighter weight than a comparable ni-cd 18V drill/driver, this tool will get the job done without running out of steam before a project is complete.”
The new SKIL 18V drill/driver features the dependable power of the lithium ion battery pack. Users can pick up the drill/driver knowing it is ready when they are because the battery holds its charge for up to 18 months. SKIL’s unique removable battery pack system allows users to charge the battery on or off the tool. The SKIL SmartCharge System™ charger automatically manages the flow of power to the battery, providing temperature and overcharge protection, allowing users to store tools on the cradle as an added benefit. This feature has earned the 2510-02 battery charge the Energy Star Compliance certification.
Whether DIYers are taking on projects from assembling cabinets and shelving to building decks and swing sets, the SKIL 2815-02 18V-Li drill/driver can handle the workload. The powerful motor features a 0-850 no-load RPM, and the all metal gearbox maximizes driving power and extends tool life. Operating this drill/driver is easy with the 15+1 position clutch and the customized soft-grip handle improves handling and reduces user fatigue. To make this tool even more user-friendly, SKIL added a 3/8” keyless chuck, for fast and easy bit changes. Forward and reverse indicators offer a quick visual on drill direction, PowerLight work light illuminates the work area and a battery fuel gauge allows the user to see how much power is left for the project at hand.
The SKIL 2815-02 18V Lithium Ion Drill/Driver comes complete with four bits (three Philip’s® and one slotted bit), one battery and a cradle charger and will be available beginning in the fall of 2007 with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $99.99.
