Skil’s Lithium Ion Wrench Cranks up the Power

September 1, 2007 – The newest addition to SKIL’s growing line of lithium ion tools, the 2372 7.2V Lithium Ion Power Wrench, is sure to become an indispensable item in toolboxes nationwide.  This new and innovative product is the first of its kind in the marketplace, making hand wrenches and ratchets practically obsolete.  From furniture or toy assembly to deck building, the Lithium Ion Power Wrench makes getting projects done a whole lot faster and easier.

No matter the task, the new SKIL Power Wrench has the features and the power to help complete any project successfully.  The Power Wrench accepts all standard ¼” sockets, which enables do-it-yourselfers to use many of the sockets in his or her current toolbox.  In addition, the new SKIL Power Wrench has both forward and reverse operations as well as an adaptor to convert the Power Wrench into a right-angle drill/driver.  These features virtually eliminate tight spaces that could not be reached in the past by other power tools.  And despite its compact size and weight (just 1.8 lbs.) the all metal gear train and durable metal front ensure an extended life for the tool.  The wrench delivers 75 in-lbs. of torque in auto mode and up to 400 in-lbs of torque in manual mode.

“There are countless projects ideally suited for SKIL’s Lithium Ion Power Wrench,” said Dean Peterson, product development and marketing director for SKIL Power Tools. “The great thing about the Power Wrench is that it allows users to quickly remove or re-fasten nuts and bolts at the press of a button, saving users time and aggravation.”

Because of SKIL’s long lasting lithium ion battery, the Lithium Ion Power Wrench will hold its charge for up to 18 months even if the tool is left off the charger.  As with all of SKIL’s lithium ion tools, the Power Wrench features the SKIL Smartcharge System™ electronics, which allows the tool to be stored on the charger indefinitely without damage to the battery.  The charger can be mounted to the wall or sit flat on a work area.

The Power Wrench comes with a 17-piece accessory bit set and a cradle charger.  The wrench has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $49.99 and will be available at home improvement centers nationwide starting in September 2007.
