“The new 2362 lithium ion drill/driver is the latest SKIL product to offer reliable performance in a tool that’s easy to handle,” said Dean Peterson, product development and marketing director for SKIL Power Tools. “The Power Driver is a compact drill/driver, powered by lithium ion battery technology and loaded with user-friendly features that meet the needs of DIYers and help them achieve success in their every day projects.”
The SKIL 7.2V Power Driver’s lithium ion battery technology allows the tool to retain a charge for up to 18 months, ensuring the tool is always ready to respond to unexpected projects. The performance of the SKIL Power Driver is particularly effective in tight spaces. With a compact design that weighs only 21 ounces, holding the tool overhead or maneuvering around tricky corners to drill holes and drive screws is not a problem. It’s ideally suited for a variety of projects such as installing light fixtures or ceiling fans, hanging pictures or shelves, cabinet or furniture assembly and much more.
The SKIL Power Driver has a 10+1 position clutch to deliver the right torque for every job. The powerful motor features a variable speed of zero to 500 RPM, ensuring the appropriate speed for the every project. The built-in Autobrake provides added control and safety giving users peace of mind. In addition, the ¼″ quick change hex chuck makes changing bits a breeze.
Additional user friendly features include the forward/reverse indicators that clearly show which way the bit is spinning, and an on-tool battery fuel gauge that allows the user to plan for their next charge. Finally, the Power Driver incorporates the SKIL SmartCharge System™ which provides overcharge protection and allows users to store the tool on the cradle for extra convenience.
The SKIL 7.2V Power Driver comes complete with a 10-piece bit set, and a convenient wall and desk mountable cradle charger. The SKIL 2362 will be available in late fall 2007 with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $59.99.
