SKIL Power Tools Introduces New Sheet Sander

January 7, 2008 – SKIL Power Tools is introducing a new power sander, perfect for do-it-yourself woodworkers and home project enthusiasts looking to add a smooth finishing touch to their work. SKIL’s 7292-01 ¼ Sheet Sander incorporates a number of updated features designed to enhance the user’s experience with the tool.

New to the 7292-01 model features an illuminated four level pressure gauge that allows users to keep a close watch on the pressure they’re applying to the material.  If users press too firmly, the 3rd and 4th bars will light up, telling them to lighten the pressure, providing perfect results every time.  The 2.0 amp motor is controlled by a dust-sealed on/off switch, while the soft-grip handle gives users increased comfort and control.  A removable microfiltration dust canister is used to help collect even the smallest particles of dust.  This high-tech dust canister is also clear, making it easier to keep tabs on accumulating debris.  And if you would like to use a vacuum for maximum dust control, simply remove the canister and attach any standard ½” vacuum hose to the dust port.

“The feedback we receive from our customers and our own internal testing gave us valuable insights on improvements we can make to sanding,” said Philip Branker, product manager. “The pressure gauge, microfiltration system and increased power on  the SKIL ¼ Sheet Sander will make it a valuable addition to any woodworkers collection of power tools.”

The SKIL’s 7292-01 ¼ Sheet Sander comes with a punch plate and a sheet of abrasive paper.  The new sander will be available in stores nationwide beginning in July 2008 and will retail for $29.99.  For more information on SKIL’s other power sanders and the company’s full line of power tools and accessories, log on to www.skil.com.
