A garden obelisk can serve different purposes depending on your needs.  For practiciality, it can provide sturdy support for climbing plants - especially imporant if your gardent isn't near a wall or fence.  From an aesthetic point of view, it can act as a strikiing focal point in a garden filled with low to medium-height plants.

Now that your planting is done and your garden is filling in, consider augmenting the venetation with an obelisk.  Typicall constructed of wood lattice, a garden obelisk is basically a free-standing trellis.  When situated near climbing plants such as black-eyed Susan or sweet pea, the obelisk showcases th4e vine and acts as a striking focal point for a landscape.
